UPDATES
Lot's happening here:
- New Oily Comics are available in the shop by Melissa Mendes, Max de Radigués, Jessica Campbell, and myself. Please order some. We need to buy ice cream and cat food. Just kidding. We are fine.
- I made a very simple Oily Comics site and bought the domain of oilycomics.com. Go there and look. It's B & W.
- CAKE is happening next week. We are driving all the way to Chicago. Come buy some comics from us. I'm on a panel as well. Gross.
- I went to the Albany Comic Con today and just made a ton of posts on my tumblr about it and all the crap I bought. Go look! Speaking of which, if you don't follow my tumblr, please do. I feel like I use it a lot more than this blog now. While I don't want to abandon blogger just yet, Tumblr is just so sticky and fun.
- Melissa and I saw a white spider eating a fly. No pictures. Sorry.
- We saw Prometheus. We were entertained.
- You can now buy The End of the Fucking World in digital form (PDF, ePub) and read it on your iPad, Android thingy, or your computer. I'm serious. I love technology. If I had an iPad I would be reading comics on it.

Read TEOTFW Part 1
Now that I am working on the 7th issue I have decided to offer the first issue of The End of the Fucking World available to read online. I'm trying out that issuu.com thingy to do it. Seems like a good way to read it. I recommend hitting that expand button to get the full experience. You can read it right here or on my own site which is just a dumb page right now. If you read it and like it consider buying some comics from the Oily Comics shop. They only cost a dollar and I lick the envelopes myself. I also have other comics there to buy. just as cheep.

TEOTFW Part 4
Hello everybody. I somehow managed to pull together another issue of my mini comic, The End of the Fucking World. This is part four in which not much happens but as Melissa put it, this is kind of a romantic issue. I hadn't planned that but that's perfect for February. I put Hank Williams on the cover because he is great.
Melissa Mendes was very nice to do a special drawing for this issue. It's the pretty one above of the kids dancing. Melissa has been posting tons of her Freddy trips on her tumblr lately. Follow them. Feel like a kid.
These comics are only a dollor. You can order them from me or get them at comic book stores that carry this sort of thing like Atomic books, Jim Hanleys, Bergen St Comics, Comix Experience, Tate's Comics, Fantastic Comics, Chicago Comics, Dr. Comics and Mr. Games, Quimby's and probably some others.
If you own a shop and would like to carry these comics then contact my whole sale guy Tony Shenton.
In other news, my hand are freezing.

BCGF 2011

We are almost all packed up and ready to go. Brooklyn Comics and Graphics Festival is this weekend.
I'm going to have The End of the Fucking World 1 and 2 for sale. I'm bring some mash-up posters too. Not sure if they'll be out but just ask me if you want one. They don't sell real well at these shows so it's a gamble. So please stop by and introduce yourself. In case you are wondering. This is what I look like right now:
I'll see you there. Make sure to bring your smiles. I'm bringing mine.

SPX 2011 and pictures of me and my cat
Hey Jerks,
It is the time of year where the cartoonists take showers and drive to Bethesda, Maryland to be reminded how painful real life interactions with similarly introverted people can be! Go Team Comics! Wait...First there is this picture of me destroying a horrifically rotted picnic table. Look at that man, everybody!
Awesome, huh? So yeah the Small Press Expo is happening and the only thing I am freaking out about is that Melissa "Hollywood" Mendes has a beautiful book coming out! Wait, guys. Look at this picture of our friend, Bruce.
I know, right? Look at those fuzzy lips. Holy shit.
Anyway. If you came to read about Chuck Forsman, here is what I'll be doing this weekend. Hanging out at the Sundays table (D2) with copies of Sundays Forever Changes, The Ground is Soft, and a new 12 page mini comic I did for the show called The End of the Fucking World. I want to formally apologize to my mom for the swear word. She thinks it is lazy of me but I really like the power that swear words hold. Especially for kids and teenagers. Anyway, this is a pretty dark little comic. It's format was totally inspired by my good friend Max who has been doing this awesome mini comic called Moose. He has done 3 issues so far and I recommend you get them. I could tell he was having so much fun just playing and doing it as he went which is what I wanted to do with this. It's part one of whatever and it'll be cheep. Probably be like a dollar or something. Here are some pictures of that hot little item.
So you can get TEOTFW at the Sundays table and I will be signing nothing probably at the Fantagraphics table. I'm thinking of it more like I get to hang out with Jimmy Ruggs, Ted Stearn, and Drew Weing for an hour and watch them sign books. I'm there cause I have a story in the new Mome. Here is when you can see me staring into space:
Saturday 11:00 - 12:00 PM Chuck Forsman / Jim Rugg
Sunday 12:00 - 1:00 PM Chuck Forsman / Ted Stearn / Drew Weing
I've been listening to a lot of Byrds records lately. From like The Notorious Byrd Brothers to the end of their run. All the country stuff. I just can't get enough. Now I am delving into the members offshoots like Gram Parsons, Michael Clarke, and Gene Clark. Found some amazing albums that I have never heard of like this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fantastic_Expedition_of_Dillard_%26_Clark
And this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Other
Fun fact: Did you know the Eastern Coyote which runs by our house at night has Red Wolf in it and some think they should reclassified as wolves.
