OILY at TCAF 2012

Table 102 between to Secret Acres and One Percent Press is where you can find Oily Comics Books and friends such as Alex Kim, Sean Ford, Melissa Mendes and Joseph Lambert. New stuff we'll have at TCAF are The End of the Fucking World #7, Lou #3 and an interview zine with Noah Van Sciver.
Also, we'll have the brand new Sundays #5 edited by Sean Ford who will be signing his new tome, Only Skin at the Secret Acres table. We'll also have copies of the brand new Snake Oil #7 published by Retrofit Comics who will also be at the show with a ton of great comics. We'll also have some prints including a brand new Tyrant print by Steve Bissette and colored by me (chuck forsman).

We've noticed that ever since we started signing our comics "Charles Forsman" that people are now calling us that as opposed to "Chuck." That is totally fine but I really don't care. If you called me Chuck before then keep doing so. Only my mother and the state of California call me Charles.

I have a cold as I type this. I really hope I recover by this weekend. Nothing worse then travelling and selling comics while ill.  Despite that I have a ton of enthusiasm going for this trip to Toronto. I can't wait to see new and old friends. These shows means lot more to me ever since we moved out to the country. It's pretty amazing to get all these like-minded folks together. Makes me feel okay.

New cover time. Got this issue done early since I have Mocca this weekend and TCAF the next. It'll go up for sale after all that probably. But'll have copies with me at the shows. I don't have a table at MoCCA but they should be at the Retrofit table or I'll be walking around. See you soon. Come say hello.

TCAF-updated

Just a quick note about TCAF.  The website just went up and I will be tabling with Melissa Mendes and Sean Ford.  Lots of friends are exhibiting like Joe Lambert, Alexis Frederick-Frost, David Yoder, Colleen Frakes, Dustin Harbin and guest of the festival, James Sturm.  I am really excited for Dan Clowes and Sammy Harkham too!

Ok, time for some talking.  So what is this Gerry and Olga stuff, I have been posting.  Well, it's a new self contained story I have been working on since July '08.  It will be about 90 pages in length and I have decided to just post pages as I do them up here.  I"ll be posting 3 times a week.  Monday. Wednesday. Friday.  I'll start this monday.  I am pretty much done with chapter one so I am working ahead on this.  Gerry and Olga is meant to be read in a printed form and I'm not sure how it will read on a blog but I think giving myself a deadline such as posting 3 times a week will keep me doing pages and hopefully I'll get some feedback from anyone who may be reading.  Still working on printing ideas but I'll worry about that when I have the whole thing done.  I hope you enjoy it.  I have been with this story almost a year now and I am still interested in it.  It's the only thing I want to draw.

Ok, so there are some conventions coming up VERY soon which is kind of crazy.  This time next week I will be in toronto at TCAF.  I will be tabling with my mates Joe Lambert and Dustin Harbin.  I have never been to this show and am very excited cause Dustin is going to buy me all kinds of drinks.  That guy is fucking swell!  I will have all three Snake Oils, a new little mini, and I hope a new screen-print for sale.  Stop by and say hi.  We will love you.



Then a week after that(May 17th) I will be at MeCAF with Joe and Melissa Mendes and there will be a whole slurry of CCSers there too.  A con on the water.  How amazing.  This is the day after CCS third commencement ceremony where this year's commencement speaker is Jeff Smith.  Crazy!
